Billing Specialist - Istanbul

An independent Turkish law firm, comprising almost 100 lawyers offering strategic legal support to diverse clients in domestic and international operations, seeks a qualified individual for the role of Billing & Outreach Assistant.

Some of the topics they focus on; competition law, corporate law, M&A, contracts law, white collar irregularities and compliance, data protection and cybersecurity law, litigation and dispute resolution, Internet law, technology, media and telecommunications law, intellectual property law, administrative law, real estate law, anti-dumping law, pharma and healthcare regulatory, employment law, and banking and finance law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare responses to billing-related correspondence for international clients, including monthly and quarterly accruals, invoice queries, and new client on boarding
  • Lead the monthly accounts receivable process by conducting invoice follow-up with international and domestic clients through email and phone
  • Review international invoices monthly to identify potential issues in accordance with client engagements
  • Coordinate budget activities
  • Oversee e-Billing processes, including LEDES invoice submission
  • Liaise with the vendor responsible for the firm's billing software to ensure efficiency and suitability
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of international clients' billing guidelines and requirements
  • Undertake written English to Turkish translations to support the accounting department
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with international vendors for negotiations on agreements
  • Keep the Founding Partner promptly informed of new potential opportunities and advise on their benefits to the firm
  • Coordinate completion of monthly and annual periodicals with lawyers, meeting agreed deadlines, and providing high-quality copies to publishers
  • Coordinate submissions process with lawyers and vendors for legal directories
  • Keep the law firm profile, partner, and counsel biographies up to date
  • Coordinate lawyers' attendance and registration for international conferences
  • Regularly update the law firm website with new publications, events, and other content amendments
  • Assist with event coordination and planning, including liaison with vendors and external/internal stakeholders

Requirements:

  • University graduate
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (TOEFL or IELTS score is a plus but not mandatory)
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and multitask effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Comfortable preparing and delivering concise written and verbal reports to senior staff
  • Ability to develop professional relationships with senior lawyers and business support teams
  • Discretion and understanding of the need for confidentiality
  • Willingness to undertake additional duties as required
  • Punctual and capable of working overtime
