About Us:

Our client is a respected consumer & luxury goods multinational, with a large and diverse team working together across multiple continents. We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on middleware and cloud technologies, specifically in Azure, to join their international team and help maintain and scale their infrastructure.

Role Overview:

As a DevOps Engineer (Middleware Focus), you will play a pivotal role in optimizing and automating our middleware environments to support critical business applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and operations, to streamline processes, improve scalability, and ensure high availability of services in our cloud infrastructure.

You will work with a diverse, international team of professionals, contributing to building cutting-edge solutions and handling complex cloud and middleware platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Middleware Management: Oversee, manage, and optimize middleware services (e.g., messaging queues, application servers, and integration platforms) within an Azure environment.
  • Azure Infrastructure: Implement and manage Azure-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of services across global environments.
  • Automation & CI/CD: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration and delivery using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Terraform.
  • Monitoring & Incident Management: Monitor the performance of middleware applications, identify potential bottlenecks, and resolve issues related to scalability, performance, and uptime.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, IT, and security teams to integrate best practices for DevOps, agile development, and cloud operations.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure that middleware solutions comply with security and governance standards, following Azure security best practices.
  • Troubleshooting & Optimization: Provide troubleshooting expertise to diagnose and resolve issues in middleware, networking, and cloud-based environments.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of processes, automation scripts, and architecture to enable better collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Azure: Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking.
  • Middleware Expertise: In-depth knowledge of middleware technologies such as MQ, ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), API Management, and integration solutions.
  • DevOps Practices: Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC), continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automation tools like Azure DevOps, Terraform, Jenkins, and Ansible.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
  • Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills in complex, distributed environments, with a focus on middleware components.
  • Collaboration in International Teams: Proven experience working in large, distributed, and multicultural teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Cloud Security: Knowledge of cloud security principles, particularly in Azure, with experience implementing security controls and policies.
  • Agile & Scrum: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Scrum teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect, or similar certifications.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and multi-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-grade middleware tools.
