Head of Middle Office Financial Markets

For our client, one of the most important financial groups in Romania, we are looking for a:

Head of Middle Office Financial Markets.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, launch, and manage the Financial Markets products and services.
  • Analyse industry trends and competitor benchmarks and set strategic objectives for the product portfolio, including:
  • Propose new product concepts
  • Assess business growth potential
  • Identify the relevant target market
  • Determine the distribution channels and marketing strategies
  • Evaluate the financial impact of the new implementations
  • Set relevant KPIs for business development
  • Formalize the product concept, plans, prioritize, and implement enhancements of existing products/introduce new ones
  • Manage digitalization projects to implement new products: define, initiate and monitor IT development requests
  • Prepare and submit for approval the internal procedures related to the coordinated portfolio, by defining the product characteristics, pricing policy, target market, distribution channels etc.
  • Act as a centre of competence for the sale of investment products/services in collaboration with relevant entities (Marketing department for product presentation materials, HR for training materials addressed to both clients and colleagues, organize periodic meetings with sales units).
Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial markets products and services and a clear understanding of market trends and competition
  • Proven track record in project management/product owner roles, related to financial markets area (covering planning, execution, monitoring and delivering projects on time and within budget)
  • Deep understanding of processes and treasury specific concepts (trade execution, settlement, regulatory topics)
  • Technical proficiency with treasury software applications (Bloomberg/Reuters/Finastra/Calypso etc)
  • Expertise in specific banking applications as Kondor, KTP
  • Leadership abilities, including experience managing teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives, ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies
  • Ability to drive change and deal with ambiguity
  • Resourceful with an innovative, open-minded approach
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship building
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to reprioritize as the situation demands

  • Ability to establish contacts easily inside and outside the Bank
Experience:
  • University education preferably in economics, respective similar education/work experience
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in financial markets area
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in project management/product owner roles
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and regulatory requirements
  • Good understanding of business processes
  • Project/product management experience
  • Personnel / team management / leadership skills
  • Developing and managing improvement processes and tools
  • Strong network building skills
