Financial Controller

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to join our international manufacturing team in London. As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will oversee financial reporting and management for our multinational operations across Europe, North America, and Asia. This role offers the opportunity to lead financial strategy, enhance reporting systems, and ensure compliance with global standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage the financial statements of holding companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international financial regulations.
  • Lead and oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure financial integrity and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Drive timely and accurate financial closing processes, reporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial data and communicate key insights to senior management, helping to monitor progress, trends, and variances.
  • Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors.
  • Maintain internal controls for revenue, costs, and budgets, ensuring adherence to program spending.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts, and review financial plans to compare actual vs. forecasted results.
  • Collaborate with the International Platform CFO in managing cash flow, banking activities, and preparing accurate cash forecasts.
  • Support the development of platform-level accounting policies and procedures, contributing to other key strategic financial initiatives.
  • Engage with the Board’s Audit and Finance Committees to communicate financial trends, issues, and opportunities.
  • Oversee financial and project/program accounting, ensuring alignment of expenditures with management's objectives.
  • Manage and track performance of invested assets in accordance with company policies and investment guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 5+ years in a Controller role within a multinational manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budget development, audit coordination, and managing general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and investment accounting.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting principles, reporting software, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with experience presenting to senior management and the Board.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA qualification is highly preferred.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills (e.g., Mandarin, German) are an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and proactively solve complex financial problems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
